The Puck Fair

Hi every one!
Sorry I haven't posted very recently, but there has not been very good internet connection.
So let me give you a brief update on things before the Puck Fair.

Now we are in Dublin and we will be staying here for the next few months. It rains a lot here. 90% of the time it is raining! That may sound like an exaggeration, but it is not. Not much has happened besides we are doing school in August!!!!! The only good thing about it is that we get payed for behaving at school. It is not much though, only 50 cents a day but, money is money. Before the fair we saw an Irish dance show at the strangely small, but still cool, Irish dance museum. It was pretty good and mom liked it a lot and got us signed up for classes there in 5 seconds flat!

It was long trip to get to Killorglin for the fair, so  we split it in to a two day trip. The first day we stayed at Adare Manor. The first thing I saw was how big the manor was. And then I saw that they had an archery range!!!!!! As soon I saw it I asked " Can we PLEASE go!!!" Thankfully dad said yes and all I could think about that night was archery and the Hunger Games. I did super well ( in my opinion) and found out I'm a better shot when angry. It was SOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!

On to the subject of the Puck Fair!

For those of you who have no clue what this fair is about, it is basically a fair were they catch a wild mountain goat and crown him King for three days. There is also a Queen and like 15 ladies in waiting  who are girls in grade 6 that send in applications to be Queen. All of them get costumes and the Queen gets the honour of crowning this wild goat.

During Puck Fair there are three days, Gathering Day, Fair Day and Scattering day. There are always some sort of festivity at one place or the other. We saw an AMAZING  fire show with fire jugglers and fire throwers and all that kind of stuff. Me and Lilly also went to a circus class taught by the same people! It was all super fun and I highly recommend it.

Oh! And one last this I forgot to mention, I went to my first B&B and I realized that they are more comfortable then they may seem.

Bye For Now

  1. So, why do you think your mom signed you and Lilly up for dancing lessons so quickly? I haven't read the Hunger Games. Is there archery in the book? Sounds like you're having lots of fun.
