I recently came back from Canberra, the capitol of Australia. It was an 8 HOUR BUS TRIP, but it did have some interesting road stops, like the place we stopped for lunch, The Giant Black Submarine. This place was so cool! A HUNORMOUS Submarine in the middle of a public park!!
I don't have to time to reconstruct the entire week for you ( and you wouldn't have the time to read it), so I am just going to give you highlights to the places I went.
AIS
Australian Institute of Sport
The highlight from the AIS was probably the TechPool. It is a pool set up with hundreds of cameras who's footage can be shown back to them with huge TVs at the side of the pool. There was also an underwater viewing area ( that we did not get to go in, sadly)
Government House
To tell you the truth, Government House wasn't extremely exciting. Mainly, the cool thing was the governor general's car! It was so cool! It even had a little crown at the back!
The War Memorial
The War Memorial's most interesting thing probably was the huge plane Arog!
Mount Ansley Look Out
I honestly don't have to say much more than this:
The National Museum of Australia
The national museum was probably the highlight for me for that day. It was super awesome! There was this one thing called kSpace were I got to design a futuristic space car! We also got to see other cool things like the skeleton of a Tasmania Tiger.
Questicon
Even though this was the high light for most people, this hands-on-science place was nothing I had not seen before. Sure, the giant slide was fun, but a lot of the rooms had nearly nothing in them and I spent ten minutes looking at a 3D periodic table. But I did have fun with my friends.
Old Parliament House
This place was very interesting because we got to learn about the inner-workings of parliament. This was all new for me, and would probably be new to you too. Did you know they do preferential voting?
New Parliament House
New Parliament House was awesome! We got to see parliament in session!!! We heard a bit of debate over a bill, but not much. We also met Michael Danby, Melbourne Ports' representative in the House of Representatives.
Well, besides the going ons on a boring bus trip back I have told you everything.
Bye for now and keep reading!
I would really like to copy the mt.ainsley photo. My camera was running out of battery at that point so I didn't get a shot of it. Is that alright if I can copy it.
