The Penny Salute

Hello everyone!
As you may know, today is the LAST DAY FOR THE PENNY!
So, I am going to put together a few penny pictures and facts to celebrate the retirement of the Penny.
What will I call this post?
The Penny Salute

The original Penny was made in bronze
Pennies started being made in Canada on January 2nd, 1908
On average, 760 000 000 Pennies were made each year

Penny production has stopped and all Pennies that return to the bank will be melted

Well Penny Population, we have had a good 155 years together, but it is time to say goodbye.

We Will Miss You Canadian Penny!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I went for coffee at McDonald's today. The coffee came to $1.06 but I only had to pay $1.05. But I'm one of those "oldies" who are going to miss them.
