Belfast

Hi!
Sorry blogposts have been scarce lately, but not much has happened.
Until this weekend!
We went to Belfast, a city in the north of Ireland, you know, the place that is still under British rule. So, I guess is is technically part of Great Britain even though it is still on the island of Ireland. It makes no sense to me, but someone must have some reason or an other on why some of Ireland is part of Britain.

Anyways, we planned only to stay one night and go to see the Titanic museum the same day as we left, but to do that we needed to book tickets in advance for the museum and so we ended up staying in Belfast for another day. The day we'd planned to go to the museum we went to the W5 instead. The W5 is sort of like the Telus World of Science but bigger and more interactive. On the walk to the W5 we saw the  Big Fish. The Big Fish is a HUGE sardine made out of what looks like old china plates from up close.

Moving on to the Titanic Museum, no, museum is too plain a word, more like spectacle! They had everything! If you think I am over exaggerating, well I'm not. It even had a ride based on the building of the Titanic. Inside, you could learn to use a telegraph and see what the people in the last telegraph sent from the Titanic was. They also had some of what the survivors of the Titanic had to say. And guess what a crew member said to a little girl on the ship:
" Don't worry, nothing serious. We only hit an iceberg."
I bet THAT calmed her down ( that is said sarcastically) . Would you start freaking out if someone told YOU they had just hit an iceberg? Personally I would start PANICKING!¡!¡ There was also a room were you could use a little machine to see some of the ruins of the Titanic. It was so cool. We also went to tea there where they recreated the staircase on the Titanic. It was really pretty.

Well, that's about it! Bye for now!

  1. Love that fish! No, I wouldn't feel too calm is I was told that we had hit an iceberg. I don't even like taking the ferry to Vancouver Island!
